Since 1931, the historic Colvin Run Community Hall has been owned and operated by Colvin Run Citizens Association, Inc., (CRCA) a volunteer supported, nonprofit, IRS 501(c)(3) public charity. With both an education and charitable mission, the Association provides its facilities for instructional workshops in social dance and dance related activities, as well as the arts in general, for the education and betterment of area residents, visitors, and the general public. All donations made to Colvin Run Citizens Association, Inc. are fully deductible to the extent allowable in accordance with Internal Revenue Code.
Today, as in the past, CRCA utilizes the historic building as a dance hall to promote a variety of social and instructional activities which primarily focus upon dance and related instruction. On-going activities at the Community Hall include:
- Live dance bands playing Social Ballroom dance music on most FIRST SATURDAYS of the month;
- Argentine Tango dances held the SECOND FRIDAY and FIFTH SATURDAY of the month;
- A mix of classic and contemporary West Coast swing music, hustle, waltz, cha cha, rumba, foxtrot on SECOND and FOURTH SATURDAY of the month (note that THIRD SAT has moved to FOURTH SAT);
- And…EVERY TUESDAY, dances similar to second Saturday and fourth Saturday which feature a mix of DJ dance music comprised of swing, hustle, Latin, waltz, cha cha, rumba, foxtrot and country.
Come join us for a taste of the past at the historic Colvin Run Community Hall and enjoy the variety of music, instruction and dance we offer. Please visit the "Events/Calendar" tab of this Website for dance schedules. Dances are open to the public.
